(১) দেহের ভাল অবস্থা বলতে স্বাস্থ্য বোঝায়। একজন স্বাস্থ্যবান দিনমজুর রাতে মনের তৃপ্তি নিয়ে সুনিদ্রা যেতে পারে। যৌবন হচ্ছে সর্বোৎকৃষ্ট সময় যখন মনে ও দেহে সজীবতা ও প্রাণশক্তি থাকে। এইটিই সেই সময় যখন 'যেমন কর্ম তেমন ফল' প্রবাদ বাক্যটি স্মরণ রাখা প্রয়োজন। এ সময়েই আমাদের পরিশ্রম, সততা, সত্যবাদিতা এবং সদগুণের বীজ বুনতে হবে।

Translation: The good condition of body means sound health. A healthy worker can sleep a sound sleep at night with mental satisfaction. Youth is the best time when vivacity and vigour remein. It is the time when the proverb 'as you sow so you reap' should be kept in mind. It is the time when we have to sow the seeds of diligence, honesty, truthfulness and other good qualities.

(২) যারা দেশকে ভালবাসে সে দেশপ্রেমিক। দেশপ্রেমিকেরা নিজের জীবনের চেয়ে নিজের দেশকে বেশী ভালবাসেন। তারা দেশের মঙ্গলের জন্য জীবন দিতে প্রস্তুত। তাদের সবাই সম্মান করে। মৃত্যুর পরও তারা বেঁচে থাকেন।

Translation: Those who love their country are patriots. The patriots love their own country more than their own lives. They are ready to sacrifice their lives for the betterment of country. All respects them. They live even after their death.

(৩) রবীন্দ্রনাথ বুঝেছিলেন, দেশের গ্রামগুলির উন্নতি না হলে দেশকে বাঁচানো যাবে না; গ্রামের মানুষের মধ্যে শিক্ষার আলোক দিতে হবে, বৌ ছেলেমেয়েদের সংসার নিয়ে সুখে বাঁচবার উপায় করে দিতে হবে। তিনি কোনোদিনই ভোলেননি যে এ দেশের বেশির ভাগ মানুষ চাষ করে খায় এবং এই চাষীদের দুঃখ দূর করতে হলে সকলের আগে কৃষির উন্নতি করতে হবে। বৈজ্ঞানিক প্রথায় চাষ করে যাতে বেশি ফসল ফলানো যায় তার জন্য তিনি নিজের ছেলেকে পাঠালেন জাপানে, আর জামাইকে পাঠালেন আমেরিকায় চাষ কাজ ভালভাবে শিখে আসবার জন্য। এদিকে নিজে বীরভূম জেলার বোলপুরের কাছে কিছু জমি কিনলেন পরীক্ষার জন্য, যাতে দরিদ্র কৃষকগণ এক জমিতে কয়েক রকম ফসল ফলাতে পারে।

Translation: Rabindranath realized the country would not be saved unless the villages of the country were developed. (৪) একদিন সন্ধ্যায় আমি বুড়িগঙ্গা নদীর ধারে একা হাঁটছিলাম। হঠাৎ দেখি আমার ছোট বোন নওরীন আমার দিকে ছুটে আসছে। নওরীনের বয়স মাত্র ছ'বছর। আমার কাছে এসেই সে কেঁদে ফেলল। বলল, "তুমি আমাকে সূর্য অস্ত যাবার আগে কেন ডাকলে না?"

Translation: I was walking lonely on the bank of the river Buriganga at one evening. Suddenly I saw that my younger sister Nawrin was running towards me. Nawrin is only of six years old. No sooner had she come to me than she cried. She said, "Why didn't you call me before the sun sets"?

(৫) যারা ধূমপান করে তারা ক্যান্সারসহ নানা রোগে ভোগে। ক্যান্সার এমন একটি মারাত্মক রোগ যার কারণে গোটা বিশ্বে অসংখ্য মানুষের মৃত্যু হয়। এখন পর্যন্ত চিকিৎসা বিজ্ঞান এ রোগের নিরাময় বা চিকিৎসা আবিষ্কৃত হয়নি। তাছাড়া ধূমপান চোখের প্রদাহ সৃষ্টি করে এবং নাকের ক্ষতি করে। কাজেই যুবক বৃদ্ধ আমাদের সকলের এই বিপজ্জনক অভ্যাস ত্যাগ করা উচিত।

Translation: People who smoke suffer from various diseases including cancer. Cancer is a fatal disease which is responsible for the death of numerous people throughout the world. Medical science has yet to discover the remedy for this disease. Besides smoking causes inflammation of the eye and damages the nose. Therefore we all young to old should give up this dangerous habit.

(৬) রমেশ ও আজিজ বড় ভালো ছেলে। তাহারা একই গ্রামে বাস করে এবং একই স্কুলে পড়িতে যায়। রমেশ এর ইচ্ছা বড় হইয়া সে চিকিৎসক হইবে। আজিজ এর ইচ্ছা সে শিক্ষক হইবে। তবে দুইজনেরই ইচ্ছা বিদেশে না গিয়া দেশেই কাজ করিবে।

Translation: Romesh and Aziz are good boys. They live in the same village and go to the same school to study. Romesh's intention is to become a doctor. Aziz's intention is to become a teacher. But both of them have dream that they will do for country rather go abroad.

(৭) সময় অত্যন্ত মূল্যবান। এই মূল্যবান সময় কাহারও জন্য অপেক্ষা করে না। কোনো ব্যক্তিই ইহাকে থামাইয়া রাখিতে পারে না। ইহার গতিতে কোনো মতি নেই। যে ব্যক্তি সময়ের সদ্ব্যবহার করে তাহার সাফল্য অনিবার্য।

Translation: Time is very valuable. This valuable time does not wait for anyone. No one can stop it. It has no steadiness in its speed. The man who uses the time properly, his success is inevitable.

(৮) নিয়মিত খেলাধুলা করলে শরীর ভালো থাকে। আর শরীর ভালো থাকলে মনও ভালো থাকে। পড়ার সময় পড়া আর খেলার সময় খেলা অতি উত্তম নিয়ম। সারাদিন খেলা করা ভালো নয়। সারাদিন পড়াও ভালো নয়।

Translation: Regular exercise makes body fit. And if body keeps fit, mind also remains good. It is the best rule and regulation while reading to read and playing to play. It is not good to play all time. Reading all time is also not good.

(৯) প্রচার মাধ্যমগুলোর প্রচারের একটা অন্যতম বিষয় খেলাধুলা, যার শীর্ষস্থানে রয়েছে ক্রিকেট। বর্তমান কালের সবচেয়ে জনপ্রিয় খেলা ক্রিকেট। হ্যামিলনের বাঁশিওয়ালার মতো ক্রিকেট তার যাদুমন্ত্রে টেনে নিয়ে যাচ্ছে অসংখ্য দর্শক আর ভক্ত। ক্রিকেট যেখানে, জনমন ও জনদৃষ্টি ছুটে যায় সেখানে। ক্রিকেট খেলাকে বলা হয় রাজার খেলা।

Translation: Games and sports is one of the subjects of publicity media where cricket occupies the top position. Cricket is the most popular game of the present time. Like the piper of Hamilon, cricket is pulling a myriad of viewers and fans with its magical power. Where there is cricket, there rush the public feelings and public sights. Cricket is called the game of kings.

(১০) আমরা বাংলাদেশী। ১৯৭১ সনের মহান স্বাধীনতা যুদ্ধের মাধ্যমে আমরা স্বাধীন বাংলাদেশ অর্জন করি। বাংলা আমাদের মাতৃভাষা এবং বাংলাদেশ আমাদের মাতৃভূমি। এ দুটোর জন্যেই আমরা গর্বিত।

Translation: We are Bangladeshi. We gain independent Bangladesh through great independence war in 1971. Bangla is our mother tongue and Bangladesh is our motherland. We are proud of these two.

(১১) জীবনকে সুন্দর ও সার্থক করার জন্য শিক্ষা। আমাদের নৈতিক চরিত্রের উন্নতিই যদি সাধিত না হয়, তবে বিদ্যার কোনো মহিমাই থাকে না। আমাদের সমাজের দিকে কি একবার চেয়ে দেখেছ? জানি, তুমি সবকিছু দেখে বড় নিরাশ হচ্ছো। গুরুজনদের প্রাপ্ত সম্মান, শিক্ষাগুরুর উপযুক্ত মর্যাদা কেউ দিতে চায় না। এটা বড় দুঃখের ব্যাপার।

Translation: Education aims at making life beautiful and successful. There can be no glory in our education if it fails to mould our character for a decent and fruitful life. Have you ever turned your eyes to our society? Understandably, you are getting disheartened to observe the prevailing condition. No one cares to pay due respect to the superiors and teachers. And it is really a matter of great regret.
